During my 7th grade year covid hit and we had our own challenges. I had to adjust to being in a school with high schooler much older than me and sometimes walking around the same halls as them. Once going over to the secondary complex that holds both middle schoolers and high schoolers was defintily different. ![]() The community there was and still is so nice and they've had their ups and downs but you can definitly tell they are continuing to build and set their kids up for success. The elementry school, Seminole, was defintly the best. I have been apart of this school district since I was in pre-K, my older sister has also been apart of this school district since kindegarden so it has definitly felt like have known Mount Clemens since I was a very young kid. Junior: My experiance at the Mount Clemens school district started when I went to pre-K. The teachers here have so much passion whether that be for engineering or for calculus or even for music. Now in high school half the day I attend the Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center, and Warren Mott for the other half. Also for middle school I attended the Middle School Visual Preforming Arts Center (MSVPA), where I got to indulge in the arts with theatre and music and dance. The teachers really care and want you do love school which I did with their help. For grades 6-8 I attended the Middle School Mathematics Science Technology Center (MS)2TC, which is now ranked as the number one middle school in Michigan according to US News. WCS hosts many programs that are dedicated for students with a love for STEM and the arts. I came into the district in elementary school and it was a huge step up from my school district in Detroit. Senior: The programs offered within WCS has allowed me to find my passions and flourish. I would tell more but the Character limit wont let me. I took it when he suggested and took his advice and I aced it, I know that in the Gestalt of education this is miniscule but this act of kindness deserves to be remembered amongst the virtues of this place. A year ago I missed a few days of school with Covid and when I got back I needed to take a math test, and on the day I was supposed to take it I asked my math teacher about it (expecting too try and fail) He told me too wait a few more days and study, even though he wasn't supposed to give me more time to take it he gave me a bit more time to study because I was so busy taking care of work from other classes. Id say the positives outweigh the negatives significantly however. Junior: The Schools not perfect obviously, one time the girls bathroom flooded and we all got sent home because water was falling from the ceiling, and also the bathrooms are a tiny bit dirty sometimes, (not the staffs fault but its still the school).
